Government and industry safety standards met

  • ANSI/SEA 107-2010: The American National Standards Institute’s guidelines for high visibility apparel.
  • ASTM F 1506: American Society for Testing Materials is a highly acclaimed standards development organization. Their test standard ASTM F 1506 is particularly geared towards those in the electrical industry whose clothing is exposed to momentary arc and related thermal hazards.
  • ASTM 1959-05 – Arc Flash: Standard test method specifically used for evaluating flame resistant clothing during an electrical arc in an arc flash environment. This is the standard used to determine arc ratings for FR garments.
  • NFPA 70-E (AR 1): The standard for electrical safety in the workplace, which includes safety related work practices, training requirements, and detailed guidelines that many electricians adhere to as their safety standards.

GlenGuard Hi-Vis Anti-stat

GlenGuard Hi-Vis Anti-stat combines the technology in our Hi-Vis product with enhanced protection against static build up—which can be extremely dangerous for those working in gas-rich environments. GlenGuard developed a fabric to eliminate this threat. Leading the industry in this area, GlenGuard Hi-Vis Anti-stat incorporates FR defense, high visibility properties, while working to control and dissipate static.

Product testing

GlenGuard has been extensively tested with simulated flash fire performed by independent researchers. These are controlled environment tests that produce a flash fire targeted at the fabric. Using software, researchers are able to measure the extent of the second and third degree burns to determine a fabric’s protection ability. The results from these tests establish GlenGuard as the superior FR fabric in the industry per ounce of fabric. In the end, the lower the body burn the higher the chance of survival.
